lab report
Hello,
This is at the bottom of a lab report, just before the date and time printed.
It says:
Ce document n'est pas le protocole officiel.
I'm not sure how best to translate this. I would appreciate suggestions!
Thank you.

official report
Over the years, I have seen "protocole" to mean "report" in hospital settings, such as "protocole chirurgical" for a surgery report describing a given patient's operation, from painting and draping to the insertion of instruments to dissections to sewing up, etc. "Official report" makes sense here.

: This may be an accurate explanation of events, but to be strict - and it is important to be strict in such matters - this is an over/inaccurate translation of the original. The sentence states simply that "This document is not the official protocol".

These are lab results which are usually printed out and published according to guidelines or a protocol. "This document is not the official protocol" makes no sense in that context Nikki.

Discussion
Protocol: 1) a record of data or observations on a particular experiment or proceeding.
Protocol: 2) the plan for carrying out a scientific study or a patient's treatment regimen.
I think the second definition of "protocol" does not fit this context. The first definition supports medeast's suggestion, and I think it makes sense here, the data being the lab results.
