Spanish term

Servicio de uso o canalización de agua en madera

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Transport / Transportation / Shipping UNSPSC codes/services
Hi, can someone help us and translate it into English and explain it in different, more understandable terms, please? Thanks for your help.

The original Eng-Eng question is here: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english/transport_transportation_s...

Here is the term:

72154044 - Servicio de uso o canalización de agua en madera

The translation into English found on the Internet:
72154044 - Water hewning or use service
(The service of using water to cut structural constructions on properties owned by others)

If we really want to know what is meant by this phrase I think we need to write to the authors about it. Was the English version first? So we probably have to send a message to USPSC.

btw - my Spanish friend told me it all sounds odd in Spanish and is unnatural

@Mike Thanks for reposting this. It will be interesting to see if someone comes up with a better translation than the one currently given on the UNSPSC sites... :)

I would just do a literal translation. It's possible the Spanish is just as garbled as the English.
mike23 (asker) Aug 17, 2017:
Thanks Marie. I appreciate that. It's all mistranslated or overinterpreted I believe. I hope sb can confirm your ideas or offer another explanation.

I've looked at the discussions on the previous question, and I can't see any connection between the Spanish term, and "The service of using water to cut structural constructions on properties owned by others", or water hewning. If I was looking at " Servicio de uso o canalización de agua en madera" without seeing the hewning translation, I would think it had something to do with wooden water channels, for irrigation or mining. Here's a mention of wooden channels:

Example in Spanish:
Enciclopedia de las Técnicas. pág. 463.
El pisón de Ledantes (Cantabria) posee canalización en madera, que se pueden observar todavía hoy.

Water use or channelling in wood

It appeared again today in my list of software strings, which is seemingly endless. There's no way I'm going to use the "hewning" translation, so this is my literal stab at it.
