Rabbit polyclonal anti-Ag antibody?

Discussion

José Patrício Sep 7, 2020:
OK
Michael Barnett Sep 7, 2020:
@Jose 2 Hi Jose. Ms. Finch has provided some additional details, but even when such details are not provided, I often can surmise the context from my familiarity with what is current in the medical literature.

In this case, the antibodies are produced by the rabbits and are harvested by the product manufacturer for use in a laboratory test. The rabbits are subjected to some antigen, and the rabbits manufacture antibodies against it. These antibodies are used in an ELISA test to detect if the antigen is present in the sample being tested.
José Patrício Sep 7, 2020:
Yes, but they are harmful antibodies which will be fought by the antibodies of the immunological system. See my last note, please.
Michael Barnett Sep 7, 2020:
@Jose Hi Jose. If I understand you correctly, you believe that the antigen is produced by the rabbit. I believe that you are incorrect. It is the rabbit which is producing the antibodies, not the antigen. Also, I do not understand what you are saying in the last part of your sentence. Could you rephrase that?
José Patrício Sep 7, 2020:
Michael, excuse me, I think the comma isn’t necessary because I suppose that the sense of the text (that we don’t see) is the antibody against the rabbit antigen which releases the harmful antibodies which will be fought by the immunological system.

Anti-antigen, rabbit polyclonal antibody

I included the comma to avoid any confusion such as I mentioned about Jose's suggestion.
Note from asker:
Thanks Michael. I do miss the days when most people knew how to use commas in strings of adjectives.
See https://ca.vwr.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?product_id=26577572 which backs your answer, but uses "Ag" for "antigen" and no comma.

Note from asker:
Thanks José. However, I am really looking for an answer from a specialist in the field, rather than dictionary definitions of antigen combined with word-crunching. As for context. The only context is that this would be used in ELISA and is mentioned in a training MCQ.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Michael Barnett : The main problem here is that the word order creates ambiguity. Is it rabbit antibody against an unspecified antigen or polyclonal antibodies against rabbit antigen? I believe the first meaning was the intended.
