I understand that they are talking about the left-sided femoral artery but I cannot figure out what com. means. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

"com" is "communicating artery" (Cressy et all) but it almost sounds as though they are talking about 2 arteries, i.e. the left femoral and the communicating artery. Maybe they mean the artery that communicates with the left femoral artery?
