Danish term

linieforsendelse

Danish to English Bus/Financial Other
This comes from a contract regarding the supply of ICT services:

"2. Leveringssted
Materiale, der skal indlægges, leveres af kunden efter aftale på følgende adresse:
Linieforsendelse
ADDRESS "

I really can't find a decent solution for 'Linieforsendelse' at all, so any help you can give would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Discussion

Leif Henriksen Oct 3, 2012:
Thank you for clarifying this, Richard. That brings me back to my first post - in this case I would consider it a part of the address (like name of the department etc.), and leave it as is.
Richard Green (asker) Oct 3, 2012:
Thanks Leif. The ADDRESS is an actual postal address, but I had to omit it in line with the NDA on the project.
Leif Henriksen Oct 3, 2012:
OK, then if the address is given just as 'ADDRESS' like a placeholder, I agree that a shipment is less likely than a transmission. If this is the case, Sven's suggestion seems plausible. Sorry for any confusion.
Richard Green (asker) Oct 3, 2012:
Thank you for your suggestions. No Leif, there is no reference to a URL sadly.

A reference is made later on to "linieforbindelser", which I have translated as something similar to 'line connections', or 'connection of the lines'.
Leif Henriksen Oct 3, 2012:
My guess was based on address being a physical address. If it is not, if there are any indications in the text that this is an URL, then of course my guess is totally void. Only the asker can tell, as he can see the context.
Christopher Schröder Oct 3, 2012:
Electronically?
Leif Henriksen Oct 3, 2012:
This looks like it is part of the actual address for delivery, thus not to be translated. My best guess :)

Deliveries

There isn't a single term that can cover this. To translate it faithfully, you need a solid background in logistics to understand the functions in a departmentalized logistics company.
In this context, you should translate the department name to 'Deliveries', but linieforsendelse can also be found in route planning.
A few examples of linieforsendelse translated to English, varied by context.
Delivery Routes.
Freight Lines.
Shipping lines (caution - restricted use, few examples).

Never translate to -
Trade Route.
Freight Charters/Chartering.
Cargo Line.
