Discussion

Michele Fauble Aug 14, 2016:
My thought was that if this was written by a Norwegian in 1901, the writer may have used terms from spoken Norwegian/dialect. ('Mask', 'snekke' are similar to Swedish 'mask', 'snäcka'.)

Dano-Norwegian "At the start of the 20th century, written Dano-Norwegian was mostly identical with written Danish, with only minor differences, such as some additional Norwegian vocabulary in Dano-Norwegian." m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dano-Norwegian

orm, snegle

Den danske tekst lyder som en fordanskning af svensk eller noget gammelt dansk med stavefejl.
snekker = snails
Måske er "maske" det svenske ord for orm = worms
