Are you asking out of personal interest or is this for a professional translation? Context/readership? Why the caps?
Jane Luther May 15, 2007:
Sorry Armorel, didn't mean to steal one of your letters!
Jane Luther May 15, 2007:
With Amorel on this!
Armorel Young May 15, 2007:
What's the book about? Would "Beethoven's Symphonies" be a suitable title (it would certainly be the most accessible one) or does the book range further than his actual symphonies?

Beethoven's symphonic(s)

just a proposal... although there are sources where you can see Beethoven's symphonic writing(s)
Example sentence:

The Ninth is the summit of Beethoven's symphonic output, the work which brought the voice into the symphony, thus paving the way for Mahler's great choral

Yet others have better understood Beethoven's final symphonic work

Peer comment(s):

neutral Jane Luther : Beethoven's symphonic would not be a very "native" way of expressing it. Beethoven's symphonic writing/ output/ works would be better.

you are right, as in the sample semtence I also think "work(s)" would be better. thanks

Symphonic Beethoven

Since symphonic is usually an adjective in English, maybe you can use it to describe the aspect of Beethoven that will be addressed in the book.
