This is someone is looking into forensic reports and torture cases. HE is not the one actually doing up the reports, but from I understand from the rest of the text, he is looking at these forensic reports to study the frequency, type, etc. of people who have died through torture.

Best to get away from a literal translation here of "Author of" which sounds a bit stiff for a CV, whereas use of a clipped sentence structure beginning with a verb in the past tense is more in keeping with CV/resume style.
2.
It seems that the man who composed this CV was a bit careless, for it would be the investigation that would confirm whether torture occurred, would it not? And therefore "alleged cases of torture" would seem indicated here.
