Hi all,

I need to know how to create a Multiterm database in Trados 5 from a txt file. Could you please give me some guidelines?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,

Noemí

All you have to do is include certain \"instructions\" for MultiTerm to know how to import a txt file. You have to use the following basic structure (suppose that you are importing an English-Spanish glossary):

**

<ENGLISH>English term

<ESPAÑOL>Spanish term

**

<ENGLISH>English term

<ESPAÑOL>Spanish term

**

And so on. Language tags are defined when creating a new Multiter

And so on. Language tags are defined when creating a new Multiterm base (as Index fields), so you may use <SPANISH> instead of <ESPAÑOL>, for example. You can also include (and define) attribute fields such as Source or Client, in which case your txt should be:

**

<ENGLISH>English term

<ESPAÑOL>Spanish term

<SOURCE>Dictionary Xxx

<CLIENT>ABC Inc.

**

Just remember: field definitions and <Tags> should be the same for Multiterm to know where to put what, and each term group should be preceded by **

Hope it helps! Good luck,
