CAT tool, support site, job market - excellent
Review by
Juan David A Aquino Marquez . I've been working with several off and online CAT tools over the years, and SmartCAT is one of the best experiences, not only as a helpful and light online CAT tool, but as gateway for the East European job market.
Coupling it with XTRF makes it a seamlessly experience to work as a freelance, since it not only showcases your work to potential employers, but also connects their tasks directly to my email, manages the PO, the invoicing, and messaging tool with the client, making it litterally matter of seconds and 6 clicks to be translating/proofreading.
And if you keep working on it, it keeps recommending you with new clients.
Great experience!
Mariana Baroni . It's a great tool, very easy to use. It make communication between translators and customers very easy and fast.

Lightweight tool with flat learning curve
Review by
Sergei Vavilov . Pros:
lightweight tool, requires no local installation to try or join a collaborative effort
decent support of tagging and markup
Cons:
glossaries are restricted to a maximum of 1000 terms or so
requires a steady internet connection; can lose several segments unsaved if the connection drops
Several times, I have encountered an error while trying to split extremely large segments. Might have been fixed, might not.
