My last job (delivered 5 minutes ago) was for an established client with whom I have been working for 4 years mainly on large projects: EN+FR->PT(pt)

The last job I did was for a regular client I've been working for since the year 2007. | | | Kay Denney France Local time: 16:53 French to English
What's the difference between "new" and "new, potential" except for the fact that "new, potential" is nonsense in that a client is one or the other but never both? The last job I delivered was for my most recent client but it's the fourth job so far so now I'm wondering at what point a client moves from "new" to "established"...

Weird question but here goes | Jun 1, 2023 |
Since 2005, I've done 3240 "jobs" (although with some exceptions, the files I receive from a client in one month count as one "job"). I've had 315 "new" clients in that period, which means that there's only a 9.72% chance that the last job I did at any one time was for a "new" client, and a 90.27% chance that it was for an established client. Still, to answer the question: sure enough, and somewhat unsurprisingly, my most recent job was from an "established" client (one I've had since 1995). ... Well, possibly, I suppose Like Kay, I don't understand the difference between "new" and "potential" if they've given me a job. Also, a (presumably new) client I get "through a colleague" is, I would have thought, a "new client". If it isn't new, but still through a colleague or anyone else, isn't it an "established" client? My last job was for an established client... one of those clients I do many small jobs for (one or two pages), but at the end of the month all the small jobs add up. | | | Established-ish | Jun 1, 2023 |
I’ve been working for this one since 1993 but probably won’t be for much longer as they have the AI bug…

My last job is for an end customer I work for indirectly via an agency and directly with the internal translator as well. It is a huge instruction document (9000 words) about construction material for balconies. Other jobs today: proofreading some social media post for another end customer and for an action for a company that works with people with ASS and is looking for donations. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: My last job was: Wordfast Pro | Translation Memory Software for Any Platform
