Bio

Rosalía Ramos is a translator and philologist from Madrid, Spain. Since a young age, she was interested in learning about other cultures, which translated to studying Mandarin alongside her degree in Spanish Studies at Universidad de Alcalá (UAH). All of that allowed her to move to Shanghai as a Spanish lecturer at Sanda University (上海衫达学院).

During her time in China, she has been consistanly collaborating with Instituto Cervantes, not only as language teacher and DELE examiner, but also as event planner and editor for the Shanghái Tourist Guide, launched in 2019.

Wanting to pursue further education in Mandarin and performance arts, she was admitted in the Intercultural Communication Studies at Shanghai Theatre Academy, which she graduated in 2018. That gave her a background that allowed her to work as a stage manager in international teams, at companies such as The Pearl, Ibsen International and Qiao Gallery.

As an English-Spanish translator, she has worked for the translation and education company Linkes China and the toy company Playsteam, mostly focusing on instruction manuals. As a Spanish editor and proofreader, she has been able to focus on one of her passions, by collaborating with Chinese scholars in the translation of Spanish poetry.

As a proofreader, she started very early in her career working in the magazine “9th” which focused in comic books. Recently, she was responsible of proofreading photographer Ignacio Navas’ recently published “Mr. Stupid”.
