Abatement event is not a state حالة, it's an event حدث or circumstance ظرف (like a fire, earthquake, riot, storm, war, repairs), due to which the tenant cannot use the premises. So the tenant uses this negative event as a pretext to ask the landlord to reduce or waive the due rent (abatement of the rent). The tenant does not give up his right, on the contrary, he can save some money thanks to the bad event (abatement event) that has happened. |
