Asker: I had the idea of "fossette" on the face but I was looking for a more technical word et la suggestion de Cyril me semble appropriée :)

neutral  Tony M: It's usually just a slight indentation — same idea as the 'fossette' on a face! It's just a shallow conical 'dent' in the surface. I don't think 'alvéole' conveys the right idea here — to me it 'alvéole' suggests the notion of pattern of specific holes.

neutral  Cyril Tollari: Il faudrait une photo pour prouver que c'est bien d'une dentelure dont il est question ici, car c'est très précis comme proposition, plutôt risqué

  -> But 'dimple' is very specific in EN too! It is not usually a neatly machined precise housing, for example, but just some kind of non-precision indentation sufficient for locating soemthing with the required degree of accuracy.
