English term or phrase: Currants
Hello All,

Helping a friend work on a wine-related project and came across several terms. In the sentence below, I'm not sure which term is used in the wine industry.

As usual, all comments and suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Sentence: The elegant taste is pink flesh dominant complimented by white fruit with notes of currants.

currants
groseilles

"currants" is certainly not the same as the broader category "red fruit". And currants come in 3 varieties :

"Ribes, genus of berry plants, e.g. blackcurrant, redcurrant and whitecurrant"

disagree  Tony M: That would be 'redcurrants' — without any further qualifier, in EN 'currant' means 'raisin de Corinthe'

currant
raisin de Corinthe

Explanation:
In EN, if the word currant' is used on its own, with no additional qualifier like 'red-currant' or 'black-currant', then it ONLY ever means this type of currant — the dried fruit, which of course gives a quite different flavour from the 'fresh' varieties of fruit also called '-currants'.

Do also note that the first flavour is complImented by the second one, so not 'complEmented' — i.e. not 'complété', perhaps rather 'agrémenté'?
