În contextul meu se vorbește despre un baraj și cel caracterizat astfel este un zid, dar am găsit și în contextul de mai jos:

”As early as 1798 there had been a scheme to create a *subfluminal* tunnel between Tilbury and Gravesend, but it was abandoned.”

Nu am găsit o definiție, nici nu l-am găsit în dicțioanare. Dacă în cazul tunelului aș fi tentată să-l numesc *de legătură”, în cazul unui zid cum s-ar putea numi?
