English term or phrase: CDR XXXX, PhD, director
I am translating an apostille and found this acronym which comes right before the name. It is in connection with the FDA and my guess is that it stands for the director of the Center for Drug Research, but I would like to know the opinion of those familiar with this terminology. I appreciate your help

Explanation:
Not necessary a militar. If you have the complete name, search in google to see if you can find him/her to determine if indeed a militar. Otherwise, to avoid a mistranslation, I would rather use Cdr. and specify its meaning: officer in charge of a military operation or organization. As far as I know, the Apostille is never translated.

Well, the apostille translation depends:

Notes to answerer
Asker: Te agradezco tu ayuda.

Reference information:
If you knew for sure the department, it would help. However, a lot of documents I briefly scanned refers to the "CDER", if it were your guess "Center for Drug Research". So, the answer is no! It is Center for Drug Evaluation and Research" (CDER).

CDER Center for Drug Evaluation and Research
CDR Central Document Room

However, "CDR" (which is what you have typed in your test) and from this link, it refers to the "Central Document Room".

Oops... I read the entry incorrectly! "Cdr" before a name is Commander, and nothing to do with the department!
