English term or phrase: unchurched
This is in a manual for teachers of a Bible club. He speaks of a story an "unchurched father" of one of the kids told him of how another adult (not his dad) helped him (the dad) develop skills he is very thankful for. The father is not a church member, and probably is not considered a Christian.

que no pertenece a ninguna iglesia/ alejado de la iglesia/ no practicante

Explanation:
'No practicante' es una opción corta, inlcuso 'alejado' pero lo que mejor refleja el significado, es quien 'no pertenece a ninguna iglesia'.

Example sentence(s):
  • que no participan en ninguna iglesia.

Unchurched

Explanation:
The term unchurched is a colloquial expression and does not usually mean "without faith" but rather simply "one that does not assist to church" (unless, of course, the context hints at the former), therefore do not shy away from having to explain it in Spanish since the term (depending on culture) could have many different ways to be interpreted. Something like "ausente de iglesia" could work as well as "inasistente a la iglesia"

Example sentence(s):
