Hello everyone,

Melinda has been an amazing professional partner throughout the years. She encouraged me to consider how people learn to think like leaders and challenged me to move beyond my comfort zone ***in spelling out*** the practical implications of my ideas. She gave me space and confidence when I had to take a break from the project. She also showed remarkable patience when my perfectionism reared its head near the finish line.

Does it mean she urged me to spell outthe prasctical implications... or does it mean she spelled out the practical implications of my ideas to urged me to move beyond my comfort zone?

As Cilian says, it would sound more natural to me to write 'by spelling out' — but this is US EN, and the writer might have been thinking of it along the lines of answering the question "In what way did she help me?"
