Sadly, there is not really enough context to work out what's going on here, but there are a number of linguistic issues. Firstly, I take "résistance à la compression" to mean compressive strength, in which case the author is referring to the physical properties of these "empreintes". Perhaps they are reinforced holes, slots, dimples, who knows? Is there a diagram? In any event, their purpose (though more context would be helpful) may be to prevent the cladding from falling off, so they would need to withstand bolt stresses etc, but I'm just guessing. "Veture" should read "vêture". |
