Prospectus about convertible bonds. XXX is the name of these bonds.

One for Rob Grayson, perhaps, if you're around!

Valeur compensée is exactly what you'd expect (e.g. https://www.mataf.net/fr/edu/glossaire/valeur-compensee )... but why then can't I find "offset value date" ghits when I gsearch?

Asker: Thanks. I didn't actually search on this possibilty of "compensated", because that French definition I give with my link is about as clear a definition of "offsetting" as one might hope to find: it says "only the balance" is paid, i.e. taking into account reciprocal liabilities. I'm not entirely sure what you've found really covers this...

Asker: On second thoughts, no, it was other texts I had found which convinced me about the "balance" between two ops in different directions being involved. Think you've got it.

on the clearing value date

Explanation:
I - call me Bob - don't recognise the term of 'compensated value date' from my Convertible Debenture Trust Deeding days followed by the introduction of 'Reset Bonds', rather clearing, maturity or reset date.

Example sentence(s):
  • In 1986, electronic payments represented ... - and less than 1% of the clearing value.
  • Reset Bonds Defined A reset bond is a bond that increases its interest rate, or coupon rate, to bring the market value of the bond back to what it was on its original issue date or, more specifically, back to its original value.

Asker: "Clearing"... yes, you have a point! We don't use it much these days because it applied to cheques primarily. Hmmm...
