French term or phrase: galonnage
Hello everyone, this is on a drawing for a car door. It is related to insulation. I don't have any more information, it's only the title "isolation thermique porte latérale" and "zone de galonnage", it seems to be adhesive strips?
I have found websites for boat insulation with "galons", showing rubber slotted strips, it could be that, however I have not found it in any sites translated to English...and I have found the term galonnage in websites for insulation in the construction sector? Has anyone come across this term before?
Thank you for your help?

neutral  Tony M: I would imagine it is the posiiton where the periphery of the insulation material is in some way taped to keep it together (to ease fitting?) — possibly even where it is stuck, using what is basically double-sided adhesive tape
