French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Orthopedic article
French term or phrase: avivement
Hi everyone,

I am translating an orthopedic article for the US.
Under the section on bone fusion defect complications I have the following sentence.
"les patients ont subi une nouvelle opération à 15 mois (avivement et greffe autologue) postopératoire"

Djordjevic gave the following translations: avivement, refreshing and revivification (https://books.google.ca/books?id=Elx9GJ9qrtwC&pg=PA834&lpg=P...

Farlex (2012) states that "avivement" in English is a "Obsolete term for the excision of the edges of a wound to facilitate the healing process." (https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/avivement).

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The connection of the patent with orthopaedics could come in handy! From the patent text referred to above:

"[0002] [...] wound surfaces are to intergrow with other wound surfaces or with ***an implant***, [...]"
