groundwater depletion filtering well Explanation: On the basis of the results of the dewatering surveys carried out to model the aquifer water table in order to better position the groundwater depletion filtering wells, the dewatering will be carried out as follows sources: réduction du rabattement de la nappe souterraine | | KudoZ ... Groundwater depletion most commonly occurs because of the frequent pumping of water from the ground. We continuously pump groundwater from aquifers and it does not have enough time to replenish itself. Agricultural needs require a large amount of groundwater. Wellpoint Explanation: Puit filtrant has a termium entry for "wellpoint" :http://www.btb.termiumplus.gc.ca/tpv2alpha/alpha-eng.html?la... The filtration and dewatering functions are implied within the term "wellpoint", so there's no need for further elaboration in the English translation in my opinion by saying "dewatering wellpoints" etc. "WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WELLPOINT AND A BOREHOLE? A wellpoint is a polyethylene pipe with a filtered end installed into a porous soil structure. ... A borehole is a shaft drilled to depths exceeding 20 metres with a large diameter casing allowing for the installation of a sub" Ref:https://dewetsboreholes.co.za/faq/ Ref:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dewatering#Wellpoints "Wellpoints are small-diameter (about 50 mm) tubes with slots near the bottom that are inserted into the ground from which water is drawn by a vacuum generated by a dewatering pump. Wellpoints are typically installed at close centers in a line along or around the edge of an excavation. As a vacuum is limited to 0 bar, the height to which water can be drawn is limited to about 6 meters (in practice).[5]" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day 1 hr (2019-01-31 11:02:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The standard techniques used for mine dewatering are : • Storm water control • Sump pumping • Inclined drain holes in high walls • In-pit pumping boreholes • Pit perimeter boreholes or pumping from shafts • Wellpoints • Drainage galleries and adits These are summarised in Figure 1. Individual mines use a combination of methods, depending on the specific " Ref:https://www.researchgate.net/publication/242743765_COMPARISO... |
