La frase diventerebbe un "braciere di ferro con la lavorazione di un serpente" rende il significato anche se "lavorato" mi sembra più generico mentre "intarsiato" un po' più specifico e più in linea con il linguaggio francese usato in questo testo che mi sembra un po' forbito. A te la scelta :)

Asker: Facendo una ricerca, ho trovato su diversi dizionari, anche in quello citato da te "Larousse" il significato di "lavorato" https://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais-italien/ouvragé/50655 Che ne pensi?
