MHLW quasi-drug marketing approval number Explanation: The department of the MHLW that handles drug licensing is the Evaluation and Licensing Division. In pretty much all the literature from them that I could find (see the first reference below), they refer to 医薬部外品 as [quasi-drug]. In that same document, they call 認証番号 a [marketing approval number]. This is basically a code that a company applies for to allow them to market/sell a drug or quasi-drug product in Japan. Does this make sense in your context? It certainly seems like something that would be found on a pamphlet for a new drug. Reference: http://www.pref.kyoto.jp/yakujikaisei/documents/20050804005.... Quasi-drug Certification No. Explanation: Given below is the link of list of certifications provided by the MHLW for Medicinal, Quasi-drugs and Medical devices and the certificate formats. Please Check the forms 8-1 and 8-3 http://www.pmda.go.jp/operations/shonin/info/export/file/110... 'quasi-drug' is correct but the term '認証番号' is translated by the MHLW as Certification number. The term for Marketing approval no. is 製造販売承認番号. I assume the term 厚生労働大臣認証 is redundant to be translated in English. Still, if we translate it the result might be: Quasi-drug Certification No. Approved/Certified by the MHLW. Hope this helps. |
