Because I do not understand what exactly a "population-attributable fraction" is, it is difficult for me to follow the author's argument and figure out what the word "提示" is supposed to mean in the last sentence of this excerpt.

The source cited for the statistic in question is here: https://bmcpublichealth.biomedcentral.com/track/pdf/10.1186/... but it does not contain the number "44.0%."

ORIGINAL:

TRANSLATION SO FAR:

On the other hand, there are points to be noted in raising awareness about cancer prevention. It has been found that in the context of educating children about cancer in school, there is a significantly high proportion of those who, after their cancer-prevention class, choose “people who smoke and drink too much” as their representative cancer patient. While smoking and drinking alcohol have been shown to be controllable risk factors for cancer,

this has not been demonstrated in 44.0% of the population-attributable fraction among Japanese people (???)

Explanation:
I thinkその人口寄与割合 in this context indicates「たばこやお酒をやりすぎた人」の割合, or the percentage of people who smoke or drink too much.

提示されていない could mean that they do not develop cancer (in contrast to the conventional belief).

As for 寄与, it could also be translated as "are included/counted in," so人口寄与割合 can be "the percentage of people who are included in the population who ..."
