agree  Bashir Basalamah: with a minor caveat - it doesn't have to be literally old, older or elderly Chinese guy. I've heard it used for just about any "old" Chinese adult who runs a shop ("apek kedai buah"), or drives a taxi or trishaw ("apek teksi")
