Portuguese term or phrase: Metalúrgico
Hi everyone.

I am sorry if I am asking a stupid question. I saw this profession 'metalúrgico' in different Brazilian certificates and I still didn't find a translation that sounds good to my ears. Is 'Metalworker' used? How would you translate it?

Thanks in advance

Metallurgist

Explanation:
Considerando a descrição encontrada em https://www.mecanicaindustrial.com.br/580-o-que-faz-um-metal... , eu deixo aqui a minha sugestão.

Example sentence(s):
  • "As a metallurgist you'll be concerned with the extraction and processing of various metals and alloys."
  • "Metallurgists are mineral experts specialising in the extraction of metals from their ores."

Metalworker

Explanation:
I would say it is OK. One famous metalworker came from the Northeast to São Paulo, worked as a lathe operator, lost a finger, led the Metalworkers' Union and rose to President.
