In mathematics, the origin of a Euclidean space is a special point, usually denoted by the letter O, used as a fixed point of reference for the geometry of the surrounding space. In physical problems, the choice of origin is often arbitrary, meaning any choice of origin will ultimately give the same answer. This allows one to pick an origin point that makes the mathematics as simple as possible, often by taking advantage of some kind of geometric symmetry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_(mathematics) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2021-03-20 18:03:02 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Cuando hablamos de la latitud, tenemos claro que es el ecuador el lugar que tenemos que tomar como origen de medida, pues es la única circunferencia máxima y está perfectamente localizado, pero no ha sido fácil encontrar un meridiano consensuado, a partir del cual medir la longitud. https://www.apea.es/wp-content/uploads/24-El-Meridiano-y-la-... The most common system for locating points on the earth is with "Longitudes" and "Latitudes". Both longitude and latitude are angles measured with the center of the earth as an origin. https://gsp.humboldt.edu/olm/Lessons/GIS/01 SphericalCoordin... |
