The posterior layer consists of lateral iliocostal fibers and medially from iliolumbar fibers (from the iliac crest, connecting to the transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae). The iliocostal muscle bundles may involve the thoracolumbar fascia, inserting themselves with their tendon endings. This layer is thicker in the caudal area and more tapered in the rostral portion

neutral  Chema Nieto Castañón: Hola Marcelo, tus referencias se refieren a anastomosis ileo-colónicas. Me temo que no están relacionadas en absoluto con el contexto original (donde transverse hace referencia a las apófisis transversas de las vértebras lumbares y no al colon transverso)

Asker: Sí, "iliolumbar" me parece la traducción más adecuada. Si el texto original nos habla de fascículos la traducción también debería hablar de los mismos. De otro modo, si por ejemplo describiéramos dicho músculo con las tres láminas, estaríamos entrando en el terreno de adaptar el texto, cosa que, en todo caso, podría corresponder a los editores pero no a nosotros como traductores.
