It might be better phrased as 'timing effects of sound'. If it was wrong to think of a timer for the use in sound recording then it might suggest rhythmic effects of sound.

Resulta que 'temporalizador' no es un error del ST sino que es la traducción al español del término original en francés. La expresión se relaciona con el trabajo de Michel Chion en el campo audiovisual. En la versión en inglés de su libro aparece traducido como 'sound's temporalizing effect'. Gracias a todos.

neutral  Thomas Walker: I understand "temporizador del sonido," no problem. But it's not at all clear to me what "sound timer effect" actually means. What is this "effect," & where exactly does it come in? Perhaps Asker could provide a lot more context to help clarify this.
