from the locality of the same name

Explanation:
Unless you're sure that Manto is a 'town', and not a city, village, settlement or one of the other conventional categories of 'places' defined by geographers and map-makers, it might be better to stick with 'locality' which is, precisely, one of those specialist terms used for places which are marked on the map but often have no or few inhabitants.

I don't think I misunderstood, as the "asker's context" is not "general", but rather specific to the town of Manto in Olancho.

-> You seem not to have understood that my answer covers the 'general' case, not the specifics of Manto (which, having been there, I know full well is a 'town'). My point is that in asker's context 'localidad' translates correctly as 'locality', not 'town'.

agree  Charles Davis: Nothing wrong with this, as far as I can see / True. This place actually appears to be a collection of "aldeas" and "caseríos", so it's a moot point. Perhaps "municipality" would be best.

-> Thanks. Re your comment above about 'ciudad', pretty well any 'localidad' with a consejo municipal (or equivalent) south of the Caribbean seems to be a self-proclaimed 'ciudad'.

agree  Lisa McCarthy: Yep, ' town OF the same name". We should explain that 'Manto' is Spanish for word 'mantle', as per the poster's previous question. It would be confusing to say 'mantle rocks' from the town of the same name (the town is not called 'Mantle'.

-> I agree that OF is more widely used, but BY is not exactly scarce http://tiny.cc/n0lmh. Thanks Lisa. Very true!
