I am a French/English Registered Nurse medical translator, with several years of translation, nursing and insurance experience. I am known for excellent French research skills, and clear and precise writing in English.

I started my career as a Registered Nurse in New York State, where I am currently actively registered.
I have worked with translation of Cardiology, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Orthopedic and Obstetric documents, as well as material on medical devices and clinical trials.

My "hands on" experience has enabled me to place medical translations in context, appreciating the subtleties and nuances of both languages. I truly enjoy my translating.

Before starting my own translation career, I was employed as a Claims Supervisor for
one of New Yorks' premier Medical Malpractice Insurers, integrating the Medical, Insurance and Legal aspects of cases selected for trial. I translated records from French to English,
and met with French speaking insureds to prepare them for testimony, collaborating with attorneys and experts.

I am presently using Wordfast.
I served in the United States Air Force for three years, working on computers.

I have two grown children, and a grandaughter.

My hobby is astronomy.
