I have been enthusiastic about languages for almost as long as I can remember. I enjoy writing, reading, speaking and translating the languages I have studied - German, Spanish and French - whenever and wherever I can. You can therefore rest assured that I bring enthusiasm and commitment, as well as professionalism, a talent for writing, and a sound grasp of the languages required, to every translation job I undertake, whether large or small!
My academic record in language study
As well as a First Class Honours degree in German and French from the University of Manchester, I hold a Master's, with Distinction, in European Literature (with emphasis on German Literature) from the University of Cambridge, and a C1 level in Spanish from the Cervantes Institute. In addition, I have spent most of the last four years living in various parts of Spain, honing my knowledge of Spanish still further. You can be confident of hiring someone with first rate linguistic ability, as well as an eye for the subtleties and style of a particular text.
Work undertaken to date
This has included: website translations (Spanish to English, German to English: +12000 words) for the business and NGO sectors; proofreading of academic texts for the University of Düsseldorf (+10000 words); simultaneous interpreting (Spanish to English and English to Spanish) at the centennial conference of the NGO International Fellowship of Reconciliation, in Constance, Germany, in August 2014.
