Bio

My name is Walter Reid and I'm a translator/interpreter with 7 years of informal experience translating documents and certificates and medical appointments, etc. I have one year of formal translating experience at the International Center of Kentucky where I served as a translator/interpreter for immigrants and refugees in medical, legal, and routine doctor's appointments.

Currently, I am a volunteer subtitler for the following companies through Amara:

TED (aka TED Talks), Scientific American, ABILITY Magazine, Captions Requested, DO-IT, GitHub, Marginal Revolution University, Udacity and Wikitongues.

During my formal experience with multiple organizations as an interpreter/translator I:


  • Served as an interpreter for medical and physical therapy appointments to multiple patients

  • Translated $5,000 USAID sponsored Grant proposal for Peace Corps Panel from English to Spanish
