Bio
I translate patent applications, clinical trials reports, articles for scientific journals, and other information related to pharmaceuticals, biology and chemistry. I specialize in Japanese-to-English translation, but can also translate from Norwegian or Danish into Japanese or English.

I worked for six years as a patent translator and linguistic analyst for Thomson-Reuters. Before that position I worked as an intern and then as an environmental laboratory technician for the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation. As an intern, I wrote reports for the public on chemically contaminated sites in Alaska. As a laboratory technician, I performed gas chromatographic analysis of soil and water for organic contaminants.

I have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Nihongo Nouryoku Shiken), Level 1 (the highest level), and have lived in Japan for about 15 years. I also understand Norwegian because I lived and went to school in Norway. I have a B.S. in biology and have taken graduate-level biomedical courses as well as courses in patent translation.
