With this macro you can export a tbulic file into sdlxliff, fix typos with the F7 feature based on MS Word spell checker. Once you're done with spell checking, you can use the same macro to import the sdlxliff file back into Passolo. I didn't try the updated version for Passolo 2022, but in previous versions it worked perfectly.

Hello,

can you export the translated text into a format that you can open in MS Word? I'd like to use the spelling and grammar checking of MS Word. I know that Passolo can do spell checking, but I like Word better.

Other than that, can you use any other tool besides Passolo itself to perform QA of the translation? I am missing an option to detected repeated words in the translation :-(

Ok, what if you assign a shortcut.
In the same 'Customize the Ribbon...' window, click 'Keyboard shortcuts: Customize...'
Select Tools on the left and Run QA in Xbench on the right, press your shortcut keys and save by clicking the Assign button.

As a last resort: ask them at [url removed]
*If you choose to use the last resort, tell them what you have already tried to avoid receiving deja vu questions and instructions.

Then you should make sure that your pre-installed Passolo 2022 Translator is closed and unzip the file. The zip file only contains one installer: Setup.Xbench.Addin.Passolo.3.0.10.exe
Run it with Passolo still closed. Once you're done with that, open Passolo.
Btw do you use CU2?

I have XBench 3.0 (current licence), and Passolo Translator Edition (I don't use it that much...), and yes, I downloaded the plugin from the ApSIC page, but nothing displays in the toolbar or the tool section (it works fine on P 2018).
I have tried to load it manually, but cannot locate the exe for the plugin or dll, I have also sent a message to ApSIC support.
As there were only two files in the project, I managed to copy them to Excel and check them from there, but would like to find a more permanent solution.

Bonjour Jean-Christophe,

I've never encountered this type of problem with any version of Passolo. However, the plugin only works with a recognised Xbench 3.0 version. If not, you will need to register.

The question would therefore be whether all the default paths were respected at the time of the different installations. You say "official download page", but which one? The Apsic one or the RWS one?

I'm attaching a few images to show how well it works in my environment (Windows 11, Xbench 3.0 and Passolo 2022 (tbulic22 file)).

I suppose you don't see this Xbench pink icon: [url removed]

In Trados Studio, I can right-click on the project/file name and select "Run QA with Xbench". Not sure about Passolo though.

Hi,
I have installed the plugin for Passolo 2022 (from the official download page.)
However, the XBench plugin does not show up in Passolo and I cannot locate the file to load it manually.

As an architect, I'm familiar with CAD software. If you're not an architect I fear you won't understand the first thing about it because it assumes you begin from knowing the basics of drawing for architects and engineers (for example, do you know what an exploded axonometric projection is? )

And now, with the general adoption of BIM (Building Information Management) CAD software has become even more complicated if you don't know what you're doing. Added to which it's extremely expensive, with annual subscriptions in the $ thousands. CAD software also requires a very powerful computer, top of the range, one that can process enormous amounts of data very fast.

I believe there are much simpler "CAD reader" applications that allow you to just read a CAD file without doing anything to it but I don't know anything about them.

So if you want to be a freelance translator of CAD you would need to consider whether it's worth your while paying out all that money every year. You would need a large volume of work. Alternatively, of course, you could seek an employed translator position within a large engineering or architectural firm so that they would pay the costs.

Both me and the client have no issues opening the files.
The translator is the one having problems with two of the three files. Why not with the three files?

CCleaner. She tried to "clean" the computer and updated Windows also in case the problems were there.

[/quote]What regards this "issue", you don't need CCleaner or registry fixing. Just right click on the item you want to remove and select 'Delete from list'

There are three t18 files. One opens OK, two in read only mode.

(I even used CC Cleaner to check if everything’s deleted from my computer & fix registry issues. And that didn’t help either.)

Most probably, unlike those two other people, you use a wrong version of Passolo. For example, if you open *.tbulic16 with SDL Passolo 2018, you will end up with all segments in read-only mode.

I can open the files, but they are shown as "write protected" (read only).
Another two people do not have that issue in their computers.

I have tried uninstalling, restarting the computer and so on, but nothing works.

A strange thing is that after I reinstall the software, I can see the files/project I had opened before I uninstalled the software.
But the list should be empty, isn't it?
(Deleting the cache shouldn't work with this, I guess)

Hi,

I am currently trying to make my .xls glossary to be compatible with Passolo (will save this later as .txt file).

While I have already organised my glossary with the relevant language IDs, I was wondering if it would be possible to also add other information such as definition and part of speech, and if yes, what would be the language header?

I have already searched forums and SDL's help but I don't find it clear at at all..
