I started doing this for my posts on Proz, long time before they added Cloudflare.

Are you using a VPN to change your location? E.g. to New York? Perhaps that helps?

I've found that Cloudflare is uniformly slow enough to be annoying, even if it's just a checkbox and doesn't require the identification of cats or trams. On some sites, you even have to go through it twice. I use the tinyurl link shortener quite regularly, and sometimes you get the regular Cloudflare check page before you even get to the site, then you get a second check before you can shorten the URL.

I can understand the second part of that, as they don't want bots using up their bandwidth and processing time, but not the first.

But the ProZ implementation is certainly one of the worst.

In fact, it just did it again! When I went to preview this reply, I suddenly found myself confronted with the Cloudflare check. At least this time it didn't redirect me arbitrarily. On one similar occasion, after passing the humanity test I found myself on the home page, my carefully crafted message having been irretrievable lost.

These days, I always press Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C before clicking on 'Preview'.

I "only" have to wait for minutes to be granted access by Cloudflare each and every day. And I have to be on that very browser tab while the tool spins, otherwise the process takes ages.
ProZ has definitively an implementation issue with the service - other sites using that bot watchdog work properly. So this can be easily managed IMO:

Yes, yesterday Cloudflare gave me problems too. It wouldn't let me in. Than i reached Proz from random job notification in my gmail. Problem solved. ;)

Once again I was blocked by Cloudflare before I could log in to this site today. That's the third time this week.

Though I'm just an ordinary pleb,
No "influencer" or celeb,
The day that I cannot
Show I'm not a robot
Means Cloudflare is killing the web

I've also instituted a new personal filter for websites. Any web page that forces me to specify my cookie and other preferences before I can see any content, and doesn't offer me the option of rejecting all (including the sneakily named "legitimate interest") with a single click, gets closed immediately, and I look for my information elsewhere.

Is this just me? Or is the internet getting progressively more annoying?

This gives you a detailed overview of which features are included in the free version. I would say
Avast just about qualifies as "still mostly freeware after all these years" accordingly as the paid-only features
- Avoid fake and unsafe websites.
- Be alerted to potentially suspicious emails.
- Stop PC remote access attacks.
may not be deemed absolutely mandatory for safely operating a computer -- as long as you take care and run some good freeware firewall in addition. The only one I personally know is [url removed]

Also, the paid version of Avast is cheaper than competitors in the same upper-to-top-end-of-the-market performance class.

At what point does that happen, after putting in my password? Because it already fails at that point, telling me my password is incorrect. This happens even just after having changed my password, so I'm pretty sure I remember it.

Yes, I was able to log in, but they enforced security, and 2FA is mandatory now.
So, you need the authenticator app to scan the QR code that generates a 1-minute 2FA number.

The same. I have created account in 2023, as was requested by an agency during their selection of translators team, but I have never had an opportunity to use this platform.

I have tried to send them a request to delete my account and personal data at [email removed] (e-mail address from their privacy policy), but it results undeliverable:
The group data_protection only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list.

A bit macabre for such a corporation as CENTIFIC GLOBAL SOLUTIONS that is behind OneForma platform...
If anyone manages to find a solution kindly share it here.

I was waiting for my physio appointment in hospital which is a very old building and its walls are very sturdy and huge so I always have problems accessing the internet, even the hospital's free service. The people waiting never seem to have problems so I went to Settings and Wifi and under the hospital's free service there was that I had to validate which I attempted to do and that is when I received the message and I hadn't inserted any passwords. Strange, isn't it? I'm not even sure I have a Oneforma account and I'm not even going to try and see whether I have one.

I have received the same message about password change this morning.
So I opened their website, and I saw a pop-up message on the screen, saying:
"Your account has been migrated. You will need to reset your password to access our new experience - please use “Forgot password?” to reset your login if you haven’t already."

Therefore, I have followed instructions and managed to change the password. Anyway, at the moment, I don't manage to login with the new password, it says "incorrect passsword"

Rather than fraud or security issues, I imagine some technical issues they are having related to the platform migration. In any case, the way it is done is out of all safety and privacy standards. Very dissapointing...

I needed to connect to my account a couple of days ago and my password didn't work. So I changed it, but changing it didn't work.
Today, I got an email from their Service Desk saying "This email address doesn't seem to be registered with us. Please contact us from your registered OneForma email address.", but I was entering the correct email address.
I replied their email explaining my situation and I'll wait...

I got an email from OneForma this morning telling me my password had been changed. Never having requested that, I immediately changed it again (twice), but never could log in with the new password.
Not getting any useful replies from the general contact form, I wrote to [email removed] , which apparently is set up for precisely such cases. They just told me to excuse long response times due to "a high volume of emails".

Has anyone else had issues with them?
Has the site maybe been hacked?

I just read the original article. It should be clear (without any doubt) to any native German speaker that the paper is describing hypothetical scenes.

I am going to guess that someone got a notification about a key word or key phrase (as journalists do), and ran it through some translation machine. I can also see how the machine misinterpreted the context.

Just another example that machines (NLP or AI) still need human intervention. We're good (for now).

The new statement by Aargauer Zeitung (AZ) is dubious, I think. It is not common practice by newspapers to report on an incident that happened in present tense. While the AZ website does not show the whole article, it appears to be similar/identical to this one: [url removed]
If I had read the article linked above, I probably would not have understood this as something that really happened, but as an example of what could happen, according to the person that was interviewed. Or maybe I would wonder whether this really happened or not. The sentence following the description of the scenario reads, in a rough translation by me: "This example, which seems like a Hollywood scenario, is intended to illustrate how versatile digital attacks have become."

LOL, Aargauer Zeitung insists that this was not fake news despite Fortinet already made an official statement to debunk the story. The Swiss news outlet wrote:

Fortinet provided specific details: information about how long the attack took down a Swiss company's website; an order of magnitude of how great the damage was. Fortinet did not want to reveal which company it was out of consideration for its customers.

The text was submitted to Fortinet for verification before publication. The statement that this was a real case that really happened was not objected to.
