This is something like we translators are discussing most of the time, are MTs going to elbow us out of the market at some point? Never ever is this going to happen, machines cannot replace humans - they may assist humans in their efforts. God created humans, whereas humans created machines, and if humans are fallible, so are machines. Never ever is this going to happen, machines cannot replace humans - they may assist humans in their efforts. God created humans, whereas humans created machines, and if humans are fallible, so are machines. And in this vein, I submit that the hospital will quickly see that they may not be in need of transcriptors, but they will certainly need some people to edit or control the quality of the voice-recognition software, because we all know that the results are not perfect. And in a medical context, they just need to be as close to perfect as possible. Some re-hirings may be in the offing. ▲ Collapse
