Hello,

I recently bought a Japanese vase; however, I have no clue what it says on it. It is gray with blue writing and also has a red bead chain with a gold Japanese symbol that goes around the vase. Does anyone know what this is or can provide a translation of the images?

Are you sure the text is Japanese?
The text on the bottom of the vase says Made in China.

Hi,

I think I know these stuff well.

Most of the symbols on the vase is part of a poem from Tang Dynasty (A.D.618 –907) of China.

The author is called Han Wo. The name of the poem is 《已凉》

The entire poem in Traditional Chinese characters which were used by Han almost 1,200 years ago as follows:

碧闌*幹*外*繡*簾*垂*,
猩色屏風畫*折*枝*。
八*尺*龍*鬚*方*錦*褥，
已涼天氣未寒時... See more
