Japanese term
全銀 vs. 全銀協
Japanese to English
Tech/Engineering
IT (Information Technology)
banking
Note: 全銀協 = JBA (Japanese Bankers Association)
I have a document about a new Banking Connection System to be introduced to a manufacturing company. Under this System, the company will be connected to 4 major Japanese financial institutions.
The document has many references to 「全銀」 and a single reference (later) to 全銀協.
My question: is 全銀協 commonly known simply as 「全銀」 in Japan? I find this very ambiguous as to whether 全銀 is referring to the JBA or simply to the 4 banks in my document (although I wonder if then they might have said 「全4銀」??? The banks are _never_ referred to individually in my doc, only collectively.
Some context:
1-x. 全銀接続定義の決定フロー
接続先情報、回線情報、全銀情報の各チェックシート(本書x章に添付しています)を使用し、 シートの黄色網掛け項目を優先的に接続先(各銀行)から情報を収集する。
7-x. 全銀マスターチェックシート
xxxxの設定情報を定義したもの。全銀情報等のファイル情報定義を記述。
全銀TCP/IP
Thank you!

As far as i can tell 全銀 is a further abbreviation of 全銀協. See the referenced URLs where two different companies are are using the references interchangeably. again. Using 全銀 and then later using 全銀協 for the exact same meaning.

As far as I can tell this is due to a desire of Japanese to shorten words to 2 syllables or less. It¥'s a lot easier to say ¥"zengin¥" than ¥"zenginkyou¥". Also, ¥"zenginkyou¥" is in such common usage, it¥'s likely that it is hardly considered to be an abbreviation.
