4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.

disagree Muriel Vasconcellos : Tiffany made "leaded glass," not "wired glass," which is for prisons. No hits whatsoever for "Tiffany wired glass."

reinforced (leaded)glass

Vidrio armado Tiffany is Tiffany leaded glass.The sentence says Three tulips in an exotic Tiffany leaded glass.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : not exotic...nothing about Tiffany is exotic. It means unusual here. And there is no lead, it's wire frame

neutral Muriel Vasconcellos : Not "reinforced" -- that's for prisons. Yes for "leaded," which is decorative. See my answer.

disagree Muriel Vasconcellos : I've looked at your references, Jane, and none of them refer to how the glass itself is joined together. "Leading" can be very delicate. "Wired glass" does not appear in the glossary of Art Deco glass terms that I found. See my answer.

Tiffany Favrile / leaded glass

I'm making a new answer because I need the space, not because I'm disagreeing with my colleagues. Apparently any glass made by Tiffany is Favrile glass because he held a patent and used that name for any glass he made. BUT "armado" in your text more likely refers to the way it's put together. No matter how thin the lead, the term is "leaded," and the frame is "leading." "Wired glass" is glass with mesh inside, used in prisons, etc. As far as I know, it is not decorative. Also, a LAMP can be "wired" for electricity! Here is a link to a glossary on Art Deco glass terms. It very complete and does not contain any reference to "wired glass."

I mainly put the "Favrile" in to catch your attention and show you that I did a little homework.

My assumption is that "armado" refers to the technique that holds the lamp together, not a wire frame for the lamp itself -- that's not what his lamps were like. To hold glass together, you need the mineral lead. It can be very fine, like a wire, but it is called "leading" and "leaded glass." In this particular question, I don't think any could seriously state level-5 confidence without seeing a picture.

From www.morsemuseum.org/louis.html:
**The leading necessary to hold the pieces of glass together became a fully integrated design element**, simulating, for example, the stems of plants."

Here's another glossary: http://www.stainedglass.org/sourcebook/features/glossaryofse...

I think "armado" is used in the sense of "put together," because his works were pieced together in such irregular ways.

From glossary: Leading: Extruded lead channel with an H or U cross section to hold the glass in the panel.
Peer comment(s):

agree bigedsenior : Tiffany use both Favril, which he invented, and regular stained glass. In either case they were held together with leading(the metal not a mineral), such as in stained-glass windows, which he also made prior to his lamp business.

Thanks, Big Ed! I appreciate the confirmation.
disagree Gabo Pena : the glass in a tulip lamp is too small to be leaded, this does not appear to be germaine.

"Leading" can be extremely fine. You have to use lead to hold glass together. "Wired glass" is not a recognized Tiffany technique. It refers to wire embedded in glass (in prisons), or small pieces of glass strung together.
