Spanish term
folleto cotinuado
Spanish to English

Finance (general)
This appears to be some kind of information provided to shareholders. It is provided in a list of financial documents available to investors. I assume there must be an equivalent term in English but am not sure what this would be. Any help would be much appreciated.

shelf registration
A "folleto continuado" is when a company wishes to issue commercial paper over a period of time without having to file a new prospectus every single time. What they do is file a prospectus for the overall amount and get all the papers cleared. They then make use of the approval to issue securities as needed within the approved limits. It's called "shelf registration" because the papers are filed and just need to be taken down from the shelf and dusted off when needed.
