: Just to say that 'dar uma de' e 'dar uma' (see Sarah's comment above) are completely different things in Portuguese-Pt. 'Dar uma' has a sexual connotation... ;)

do a in English means to imitate/play the role of, just like dar uma de means in Portuguese. I didn't say do Santa Claus. That might be interpreted as sexual.
