The artist here is the one who performs or owns a song or a media file which is broadcasted online.

For a music channel, automatic artist information are written during the video clip, such as legal information "synthe" (artist name, title, compositor, producer).

The text between parantheses is provided as evidence to the preceding statement, i.e. had digital rights management been enforced, automatic referral to the artist's webpage would not take place. I would phrase the text along the following lines:
