Hi everybody. I urgently need anyone to tell me what exactly a 'fussy beard' looks like, or a possible translation into Spanish. It appears in the following sentence from Hornby's 'High Fidelity': 'My dad is a bit dim but something of a know-all, which is a pretty fatal combination; you can tell from his silly, fussy beard that he's going to be the sort who doesn't talk much sense and won't listen to any reason.'

COULD THE WORD BE "FUZZY?" WHEN I READ THE PARAGRAPH AND JUDGING BY ITS CONTEXT I GET THE SENSE THAT IT SHOULD BE "SILLY FUZZY BEARD." HENCE MY ANSWER.

Of course it is "fuzzy" and not "fussy", and this "fuzzy" most likely describes a sparse beard, not a curly one.
