Ich verstehe: "diese Mannschaften sind für die Olympischen Spiele qualifiziert", aber was ist mit "last qualification to the eyes of the World" gemeint?

Es geht doch um ein Sportereignis (eine Regatta) vor den Olympischen Spielen ?!

oder im Sinne von:
Die Regatta hat Olympianorm/kann gleich vor den Olympischen Spielen gereiht werden. ( aber eher unwahrscheinlich)

bin mir leider nicht sehr sicher, das Englische ist m.E. nicht ganz lupenrein. Native speaker input needed.
