Cabine

Non-PRO français vers anglais Affaires / Finance Immobilier
This is from a description of an appartment. I'm not sure how to translate "cabine". Could it be a sort of cupboard i.e. not big enough to be considered a room but big enough to be mentioned in the property description?

Un appartement sis au niveau un, côté Ouest comprenant : séjour, kitchenette, chambre, cabine, salle de bains, salle d'eau, W.C., terrasse, constituant :

http://www.vacancesenmontagne.net/lesappts/lesappts.htm if you look it up as 'chambre-cabine' there are lots of examples....
. This is for a ski appartment

I think you're probably right with bunk beds - this is a ski apartment and that makes perfect sense especially as it is only a one bedroom apartment - thanks!

bunk beds (in the hall)

In my experience this is what it tends to mean - a set of bunk beds shoved into a tiny space, usually the entrance hall.
Worth checking, though.

Should add that I've heard it a lot in connnection with ski apartments, where it's fairly common.

I suppose "chambre-cabine" could feasibly be a box room with (bunk) beds in; I've mostly heard "coin cabine" http://www.locationpornic.com/P2 Coin-cabine.JPG ; I'm not sure how you would know for certain in this case without a floor plan, but the likelihood is that it sleeps a couple of people, so it's pretty important.

Thought it might be a ski apartment! I guess "bunk beds in the hallway " is the closest I can get - it's such a common layout for those apartments.
Peer comment(s):

agree Julie Barber : I'd say it counts as a box room (even if this one has bunks!) http://apartgruissan.monsite.orange.fr/page4.html / yes I posted an extra link above

thanks, but given the extra context, it's just a set of bunks in the entrance hallway. Very common in ski resorts.//yes, I'd already posted the link :)
