Resumen
Se presenta la modelización numérica del flujo en el rodete de una máquina centrífuga de
simple etapa y doble aspiración, trabajando como bomba y como turbina. Para ello, se han
resuelto las ecuaciones URANS para la geometría tridimensional utilizando un modelo de
mallado deslizante, que permite mantener los efectos no estacionarios debidos al giro del
rodete. Las prestaciones en modo bomba se han comparado satisfactoriamente con medidas
experimentales. Finalmente, se analiza el flujo promediado en el tiempo para ambos
funcionamientos en dos zonas consideradas como significativas.
Palabras Clave: flujo en turbomáquinas, modelización numérica, bombas centrífugas.
Abstract
The flow inside the impeller of a single stage centrifugal turbomachine with double
aspirating section is numerically analysed. Both pump and turbine working modes are
studied. The URANS equations are solved using a sliding mesh technique, which allows the
correct definition of the relative rotation. The performance curves are compared with the
experimental data for the pump working mode. And finally, a detailed analysis of the
averaged flow is shown for two typical sections in both operating conditions.

El flujo en turbomáquinas centrífugas está caracterizado por efectos tridimensionales
muy difíciles de medir experimentalmente o de modelizar con suficiente precisión. La
complejidad del flujo en el rodete de una de estas máquinas (con sus correspondientes

Discussion
I think "centrifugal pump" is the term rather than "centrifuge pump", although there are some hits for "centrifuge pump" as well. See the Wikipedia entry:

I have also checked a number of sources and dictionaries (IATE, "Naranjazo", etc.) for translations of "rodete" and it can't be "pump" as it is part of a pump and I don't think it's "rotor" either, so it's got to be impeller, plus there are more Google hits for semiaxial impeller.
